A Felted Animal of Your Choice

About this workshop

Join us in the Feather Felts workshop for a relaxed morning of needle felting, where you will make a charming little animal of your choice from natural wool fibres. For this workshop, you can choose the animal you would like to create. It might be an elephant, your dog, a mouse, a hare, a cat, or something else entirely. Each model will be made using a simple body shape, with the head, tail, ears, colours, and finer details added to give your animal its own character and personality. Over three gentle hours, you will be guided step by step through the process of sculpting wool with a felting needle. You will learn how to build the basic shape, firm the wool, add features, create simple animal details, and bring your chosen creature to life in a way that feels handmade, thoughtful, and full of charm. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, including complete beginners. Groups are always kept small, with a maximum of 6 people, so there will be plenty of help and guidance throughout. You do not need any previous needle felting experience, just a little patience and a willingness to have a go. All materials and equipment are included, along with plenty of refreshments to keep you going while you make. The workshop runs from 10am until 1pm at our home workshop in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire. Come along for a calm, creative morning and leave with your very own woolly animal, made by hand and full of personality. The hardest part may simply be deciding what to make.
