Saturday 17th October - Wet Felting

A Lovely Saturday of Creativity
We enjoyed another lovely Wet Felting Workshop here at Feather Felts in Hunmanby on Saturday 17th October. It always amazes me just how different everyone's finished pictures turn out, even though we're all using the same technique! Each person brings their own ideas, colours and imagination to the table, and that's what makes these workshops so enjoyable.
When the Room Becomes Quiet
Once everyone had settled on their ideas and started laying out their wool, it wasn't long before they were completely absorbed in what they were creating. Within about twenty minutes, the room had become wonderfully calm and peaceful. Everyone was concentrating on their own little scene, enjoying the process and letting their creativity take over. It's always such a lovely moment to see.
The Mindful Magic of Wet Felting
Wet felting really is a wonderfully mindful craft. There's something very soothing about working with wool, warm water and soap, slowly building up a picture with your hands. As the fibres begin to felt together, it's lovely to watch each scene take shape. Everyone enjoyed the process, and it was wonderful to see how relaxed and absorbed they became as the morning went on.
A Beautiful Collection of Pictures
By the end of the workshop, we had a lovely collection of individual wet felted pictures, each one completely different from the next. A big thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday. It was a pleasure to share such a peaceful and creative morning with you all. I've included some photographs from the workshop below so you can enjoy seeing what everyone created!
