A Day at Reighton Village Hall Craft Fair

Updated: Nov 10, 2025

On Saturday 8th November I was at the Reighton Village Hall Craft Fair, a lovely local event that brought together a good mix of makers and visitors from the surrounding villages. It was nice to see the hall busy with people chatting, browsing and supporting small businesses.

I had my full Feather Felts stall set up with needle felting kits, wool bundles and accessories. It’s always a pleasure to meet customers in person, especially those who have bought from me online before and stop by to say hello. There’s also something rewarding about introducing felting to people who’ve never tried it before, showing them how simple it is to get started and watching their interest grow as they pick up the wool and tools.

The fair ran from 10am to 2pm and had a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Events like this are a reminder of how important local craft fairs still are, they give people a chance to buy directly from the maker, ask questions, and see the quality of handmade work up close.

It’s easy to overlook small local fairs, especially when so much shopping happens online now. But standing behind the stall and talking to people face to face is a reminder that craft is as much about connection as it is about creativity.

These events bring people together, makers, customers and curious visitors alike. They keep traditional skills alive, offer a space for new ideas to be shared, and create a genuine sense of community that can’t be replicated online. For small businesses, it’s also a chance to share the story behind what we make, the process, the materials, and the care that goes into each piece.

Days like this show that handmade still matters, and that people value the time and skill behind it.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the fair. It was a great day to be part of, and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
