Saturday 7th March - Floppy Dog

A Busy and Creative Day at the Floppy Dog Workshop

On Saturday 7th March, we hosted our Floppy Dog needle felting workshop at the Feather Felts Workshop in Hunmanby, and it was a full and lively day from start to finish. The workshop was fully booked, with six ladies joining me for a jam packed session of felting, shaping, and bringing their dogs to life in wool. From the moment everyone arrived, there was a great atmosphere around the table, with plenty of excitement to get started.

Building Character with Wool

The day focused on creating these lovely floppy eared dogs step by step, starting with the basic shapes and gradually building up the body, head, and features. Needle felting is always a process of patience, and it was wonderful to see each piece slowly take shape as the hours went on. As more detail was added, each dog began to develop its own expression and character, which is always one of the best parts of this kind of workshop.

A Table Full of Fantastic Dogs

By the middle of the day, the workshop was in full swing, with everyone completely absorbed in their work and the table filled with wool, tools, and half formed dogs in various stages of progress. Although everyone was making the same project, no two dogs turned out the same. Each one had its own look and personality, and the finished results were fantastic. The standard of work was brilliant, especially in a busy, full workshop like this one.

A Fully Booked Day to Remember

It was such a pleasure to spend the day with a full table of keen felters, and a very well done to all six ladies who came along and created such wonderful floppy dogs. Thank you to everyone for making it such an enjoyable workshop. I will be adding extra photographs from the day below, which really capture both the atmosphere of the session and the fantastic finished models.
