Saturday 18th October - Autumn Wreath

Autumn Colours in Full Bloom

There’s something truly special about autumn in Yorkshire – crisp air, golden leaves, and a sense of calm that inspires creativity. On Saturday 18th October, six lovely ladies joined me at Feather Felts for a relaxing day of needle felting, where the focus was on crafting beautiful autumn wreaths filled with pumpkins, leaves, and warm seasonal tones. The studio was alive with laughter, creativity, and that cosy autumn feeling that only Yorkshire can provide.

From Wool to Wreath

Throughout the day, everyone immersed themselves in the gentle rhythm of felting. With tufts of soft wool and a dash of imagination, the tables soon filled with textures and colours reflecting the season, burnt oranges, deep browns, and soft creams. As each wreath took shape, it was a joy to see the variety of designs emerge, from rustic woodland looks to rich harvest-inspired arrangements. Every piece was a reflection of its maker’s personality and creativity.

A Day of Friendship and Creativity

Workshops at Feather Felts are as much about connection as they are about craft. Over cups of tea and homemade treats, the group shared stories, tips, and plenty of laughter. By the end of the afternoon, each participant went home with a wreath to be proud of, a handmade celebration of autumn that will bring warmth to their homes. Yorkshire charm, good company, and creative inspiration made it a day to remember.

Capturing the Moments

Our gallery below captures some of the highlights from the day, from the first tufts of wool to the final finishing touches. Each photo tells the story of a day filled with colour, texture, and joy. Thank you to everyone who joined me for this lovely workshop, I can’t wait to welcome you all back for the next creative adventure.
