A Creative Morning Making Pin Cushions
We recently hosted a needle felting pin cushion workshop at the Feather Felts Workshop, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning spent in good company. Five ladies joined me around the table, and from the start the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and full of creativity. With wool laid out and ideas taking shape, it was clear this was going to be a session where imagination played just as much of a role as technique.
From Simple Shapes to Characterful Designs
The workshop began with the basics of shaping and firming wool to create a strong, practical pin cushion base. Once the foundations were in place, everyone was free to take their designs in their own direction. The variety was wonderful to see, from a charming toadstool surrounded by leaves, to crabs sitting on the sea floor, and even a brilliantly creative scone complete with cream inside and a strawberry on top.
A Table Full of Fantastic Models
As the morning went on, the table filled with finished pin cushions, each one completely different and full of character. Every model was beautifully made, and it was clear how much care and attention had gone into the details. The standard of work was fantastic across the board, and everyone should be very proud of what they created.
A Big Thank You to Everyone Who Joined Us
By the end of the session, everyone left with a finished pin cushion ready to be used, along with new skills and plenty of ideas for future projects. A very well done to everyone who took part, and a big thank you for coming along and making it such an enjoyable workshop. I’ll be adding some extra photos from the day below to show off the wonderful range of finished pieces.
