Sunday 12th October - Autumn Wreath

A Cosy Autumn Gathering

On Sunday 12th October, six lovely ladies joined me in the studio for our Autumn Wreath Needle Felting Workshop, a truly heart-warming day filled with creativity, colour, and laughter. The air had that gentle October crispness, and the table was soon covered with shades of russet, gold, and deep green as we set to work crafting our autumn wreaths. With warm drinks and good company, it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday in Yorkshire.

Pumpkins, Wool and Woodland Hues

Each wreath took shape with its own personality, some brimming with tiny pumpkins and berries, others with soft mosses and toadstools nestled between the fibres. We worked slowly and mindfully, layering wool textures and tones to capture the feeling of autumn hedgerows and woodland walks. It’s always such a joy to see how the same materials become something completely unique in each pair of hands.

Creativity and Conversation

Workshops at Feather Felts are always about more than just felting, they’re about connection. As the afternoon went on, conversation and creativity flowed side by side. Whether it was sharing stories, tips, or simply enjoying the peaceful rhythm of needle felting, the room felt full of warmth and calm. There’s something special about creating together on a quiet Yorkshire afternoon.

A Beautiful Finish

By the end of the day, everyone left with a finished wreath to hang proudly at home, each one a little piece of autumn captured in wool. I couldn’t have been prouder of the group and their beautiful work. You can see all their wonderful creations in the gallery below, a true celebration of the season in full colour.
